Like Feng Shui, Vaastu also concerns itselfwith the flow of energy which in Sanskrit is ‘PranÂ’ or Life Force and whichfinds its corresponding term in Feng Shui as ‘ChiÂ’. ‘VaasÂ’ means to reside or dwell, and ‘ShastraÂ’means science, so that literally it is science of buildings or homes. Vaastuprescribes how the different rooms of the house including the dining roomshould be oriented in terms of direction and construction and also how thefurniture therein should be placed.
